Myeik University is located on University Avenue Road, Kalwin Ward, Myeik, Tanintharyi Region. Situated near the Airport , Myeik Public Hospital and the Strand Road, it is Tanintharyi's second university (after Dawei University).
Myeik University has scientific collaboration with universities and institutes in Japan, Norway, Thailand, UK and USA, and a capacity building project through the MuEuCAP EU Eramus+ programme.
Myeik University has two faculties: Science and Arts, and 13 departments. There are more than 10,000 students enrolled in Regular and Distance Education Courses. Students can obtain Bachelor and Master's degrees by coursework and research.
Myeik University is ranked fourth (of more than 60 universities) in the Myanmar Universities league table - those which are offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Pro-rector of Myeik University is Dr. Ni Ni Oo and her deputy is Dr. Win Win Than.
Founded in 1999 as Myeik College, upgraded to Myeik Degree College in 2001 and to Myeik University in 2003, it is a friendly and interesting place to conduct research and international collaboration.
Myeik University welcomes visitors from all around the world, especially those who would like to collaborate in research and/or teaching and learning activities.
